Road closures to take place on the M6 near Lancaster

Over the coming weeks, there will be multiple road closures on the M6 due to essential maintenance work. This work may impact on colleagues travelling to and from work or as part of their duties whilst at work.

The northbound carriageway of the M6 Junction 32 and Junction 33 near Lancaster will close overnight on:

  • Wednesday 7 September from 9pm to 5am
  • Thursday 8 September from 9pm to 5am
  • Monday 26 September from 9pm to 5am
  • Tuesday 27 September from 9pm to 5am  

The M6 southbound will then be closed at Junction 32 and Junction 33 near Lancaster over four weekends: 

  • Friday 9 September to Monday 12 September between 9pm and 5am  
  • Friday 16 September to Monday 19 September between 9pm and 5am 
  • Friday 23 September to Monday 26 September between 9pm and 5am 
  • Friday 30 September to Monday 03 October between 9pm and 5am 

Between Friday 30 September and Monday 3 October, Whittingham Lane (B5269) and Stubbins Lane will also be closed. 

Fully signed diversions will be in place for all of the road closures and these routes are expected to be busy. 

All colleagues travelling between our sites are advised to take care, allow extra time and only travel if necessary.
