National leadership scheme piloted in Lancashire and South Cumbria

The NHS High Potential Scheme (HPS) is an exciting new NHS Leadership Academy development programme that is being piloted in seven areas, with participants in Lancashire and South Cumbria starting from July 2020.

The innovative, 24-month career programme is designed to help middle level clinical or non-clinical leaders accelerate their career to senior executive roles at a faster pace.

With the help of a career coach, the candidates will shape a two-year programme of experience focusing on gaining practical leadership experience in a range of roles and settings, and strategic experience through assignments and projects.

Danielle Coupe, System Talent, Organisational Development and Leadership Lead for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) said:

“We’re delighted to be one of the pilot areas for the NHS High Potential Scheme, it’s a unique way to nurture and support rising stars within our leadership teams.

 The scheme is particularly welcoming staff from underrepresented groups to apply which will help to build a diverse and inclusive leadership team that mirrors our workforce.”
