Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups– information for observing the meeting for members of the public

Date posted: 8th January 2021

Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are NHS organisations that plan and buy healthcare for their communities. The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups (JCCCG) is a meeting of the CCGs in Lancashire and South Cumbria and will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Decisions will be referred to this committee if they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will continue to be taken locally.

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups consists of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, representatives from district Councils and local Healthwatch attend the meetings.

In common with other NHS Boards, the Joint Committee of CCGs conducts its formal business in meetings held in public. Members of the public are therefore invited to observe the formal meeting on Thursday 14 January 2021. Whilst under normal circumstances the public would be able to attend meetings held in public in accessible venues, this is not currently possible due to Government guidelines. Therefore, until further notice, formal meetings of the JCCCGs will be held virtually by default using Microsoft Teams. The agenda, papers and minutes for formal meetings of the JCCCGs will be published on the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria website.

Members of the public can request to observe the JCCCGs on 14 January by emailing us by 4pm on Wednesday 13 January 2021 and providing their name. They will be provided with a link to join the meeting and some important information about joining the meeting. Regarding public questions concerning specific agenda items, we ask for these to be submitted by email to prior to the meeting. We may need to defer any questions should the focus of the meeting need to be re-prioritised at short notice as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

If you have any questions to put to the JCCCGs relating to items on the agenda for the meeting on Thursday 14 January 2021, please forward questions in advance by 4pm on Wednesday 13 January 2021 by email.

A response will be sent directly to the individual who raised the question.

We recognise that the meeting papers are not currently in an accessible format and we are working towards fixing this for future meetings. If you require this document in a different format, please contact us and we will look into your request.
