Amazing People, Lives & Futures Community Day

Date posted: 18th June 2018

A community and health & social care recruitment day was successfully held at Lancaster & Morecambe College on 16th June. Care employers, NHS and even local radio braved the wet weather to promote health & social care careers to ensure that we have a sustainable supply of appropriately skilled staff for the future. The event was aimed at redressing the shortage of staff, with the message of attracting people with a positive caring attitude who might enjoy supporting others.

Alongside activities such as beauty treatments, bouncy castle, crafts & animal handling was the opportunity to showcase careers within the health & social care sectors, with live demonstrations and businesses from the industry exhibiting their offering for all ages covering a range of skills and opportunities.

This model will be used for further Workforce recovery events across the ICS, delivering proactive engagement with the sector in developing solutions for recruitment & retainment.
