National Apprenticeships Week 2019

HLSC_Careers.pngNational Apprenticeships week 2019 runs from 4th to 8th March. During the week we are celebrating the success of apprenticeships in Lancashire and South Cumbria and encouraging more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a rewarding career.

In five of the NHS trusts in Lancashire and South Cumbria, there are nearly 600 apprentices working in a variety of roles that range from health and wellbeing support and pharmacy support workers to cyber security and engineering. These include Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition to the NHS, roles such as healthcare assistants, assistant practitioners and student nurses apprentices are being recruited by social care providers.

The NHS is committed to recruiting staff with the right skills, experience and knowledge in order to deliver high quality care for people in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
