Lancaster Family Hubs

Date posted: 8th December 2022

Lancashire County Council will be running user research sessions to gain real insights from families and practitioners to help shape the Family Hubs Network.

Children, Families and Young People

We have created several opportunities across Lancaster, Burnley and Preston, where children / young people, and parents / carers will be given a real opportunity to share their views around how they access services, the connectivity in between services and how important relationships are for them, when they need support.

These Focus Groups will hopefully highlight the good practice already out there across the county's community of services, and also highlight any gaps in service which we would aim to fill.

The focus groups which each last one hour and will take place in the following venues

  • Lancaster St Thomas's Church - Tuesday 13 December, from 4pm to 5pm (for CH/YP) and 5pm to 6pm (parents /carers)
  • Morecambe Library - Tuesday 13 December, from 4pm to 5pm (for CH/YP) and 5pm to 6pm (parents /carers)

Please could all partners, practitioners and interested parties share the details of the above events (the details will also be shared across LCC corporate media channels) and make these events as meaningful as possible !If you have any queries or further questions about these events please do not hesitate to contact Annie or Afolabi.

Practitioner Opportunities:

We have created several opportunities for staff across Lancaster, Burnley and Preston, where frontline practitioners will be given an opportunity to share their valuable insights around current pathways to access family support across Lancashire, and to gather further insight relating to district demand, strengths and challenges, around access, connections and relationships.

The hope is that through shining a bright and sustainable light on what is already happening, and highlighting any gaps that can be hopefully filled by the community of services, the Family Hub Networks will become more easily recognisable, robust and accessible for all, for years to come. The focus groups which each last one hour and will take place via MS Teams on the following dates:

Monday 16 January 2023, from 10am to 11am
