Key Decisions and Actions

This month saw an extensive discussion around the risks of de-escalation of winter schemes, such as Avondale. It was noted that though frustrations are high, this presents us an opportunity to work differently. The work was stood up in response to the pandemic; however, it has now demonstrated value as those patients with a similar profile must have existed prior to the pandemic. There is a concern of where these people will be captured once this service has been removed, which links directly with our priority of Intermediate Care. This poses significant risks across the system and there is a question around which services are going to absorb this activity.

The Performance Lead brought an update on progression of the Board’s Performance Dashboard. This dashboard will be used to show if we as a Board are making a difference. Whilst we are in the early stages of the intermediate care piece, and we have identified flaws in obtaining the data required though if we wait for the data to be perfect, we will never get the work done.

The key decisions taken from this meeting included;

· Louise Taylor will raise the issue around the de-escalation of Winter Schemes and request further support and assurance of how we should move forward.

· Damian is to link with PCN colleagues and V Tomlinson further to gather metrics that would measure the immediate requirements.
