Health and Care Staff

Information for staff and teams across Lancashire and South Cumbria

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria is the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership for the region which is working to help people stay healthy so they can avoid time in hospital, make it easier for people to see a GP and access services and get help faster for people with mental ill health.

Lancashire and South Cumbria is one of 44 Sustainability and Transformation Partnership areas which have been established across England to deliver the NHS Five Year Forward View vision of better health, better patient care and improved NHS efficiency.

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria has involved local people and staff in creating an easy to understand guide to the challenges in health and care for the region and how organisations are working together to create solutions to tackle them.

Health and care staff are being asked to use this as a tool for conversations with colleagues and members of the public to help people to understand the challenges we face and the shared vision we have for working together.

Staff in organisations in Lancashire and South Cumbria are already involved in improvements that need to happen across the whole region and are working to develop local plans in five areas.

We recognise the NHS has already been through a period of unprecedented change and these plans could cause concern and worry for staff members.

A discussion about changing services is difficult, change creates uncertainty, but if considered and developed together, provides stability and progress. We want our health and care staff to be involved in developing solutions to the challenges we face and will ensure there are opportunities to get involved in the coming weeks and months.
