What is Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria?
13:00 - 15:00
St Ambrose Church Hall - Moss Lane, Leyland, PR25 4XA
Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria is the partnership of organisations working together to improve outcomes and care for local people, reduce pressures on services and make best use of our financial resources.
This Committee is a meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria which is held in public and chaired by Phil Watson CBE, who is independent of the health organisations. Following the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the committee.
The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Any decisions that will need to be made will have been escalated because they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will be taken locally.
The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups is made up of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, representatives from district Councils, local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee, but attend the meetings.
Prior to the committee meeting, Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria staff will be available to answer questions about the work of the partnership and to provide information about how organisations are working together to involve local people and health and care staff in improving care for local people.
